Leidos has an opening for a Chief Cybersecurity Engineer supporting the Security Operations Center needs of a federal agency within the Washington DC area.
The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering services, leadership, direction, and hands-on management for delivery of mission enabling cybersecurity. The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer is a key leadership role in the success and overall growth of the program. The successful candidate will lead in designing current and future solutions that are consistent with industry best practices while maintain strong knowledge of emerging technologies. The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer will interface and collaborate with customers, peer groups, and leadership to continuously improve the offering.
Primary Responsibilities
The Chief Cybersecurity Engineer will be responsible for building the team and ensuring successful delivery of security services infrastructure necessary to support monitoring and threat detection, incident response, threat hunting, incident management, vulnerability scanning, and forensic investigations.
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship
Public Trust with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a cyber related discipline and 12+ years of prior relevant work experience within IT/Cybersecurity
4+ years of experience leading cybersecurity teams or projects
CCNP, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, or CSSP Certifications
Experience with vulnerability scanning platforms
Experience with centralized logging platforms
Proficient with SIEM/SOAR infrastructure management and the ability to support the SOC during investigations and incident response efforts
Ability to conceptualize, Design, Build, and Maintain current and future enterprise support tools and platforms
Perform root-cause analysis and provide recommendations
Knowledge, experience, and scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Ruby, PERL, Bash, Node, etc.)
Ability to mitigate security risks associated with projects that have high technical complexity and/or involve significant challenges to the business or subscribers
Excellent communication skills with all levels of stakeholders
Knowledge and familiarity with the fundamental of agile project management
Experience with Windows and Linux Operating Systems
Strong Networking background
Ability to work closely with senior engineers, other team members and application owners to timely solve technical problems at the network, system, and application levels
Manage multiple assignments, changing priorities, and work independently with little oversight
Preferred Qualifications
CISSP-ISSEP
Experience supporting federal government strongly preferred
Knowledge and familiarity with the fundamental of agile project management
Experience working in both Classified and Unclassified operations
Experience working with SOC environments supporting multi-tenant environments and/or delivering Managed Security Services
Pay Range:
Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
