Leidos is seeking a subject matter expert with software development experience to manage risk in support the Global Command and Control System – Joint (GCCS-J) Software Sustainment and Modernization program. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience and skill set helping the program mitigate risk and the GCCS-J warfighter accomplish their important mission while gaining valuable knowledge and experience.
GCCS-J is the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Command and Control (C2) system of record for achieving full spectrum dominance. The GCCS-J system is a suite of mission applications that provides critical joint warfighting C2 capabilities and is the principal foundation for dominant battlespace awareness, providing an integrated, near real-time picture of the battlespace necessary to conduct joint and multinational operations. GCCS-J provides a robust and seamless C2 capability to the Commander-in-Chief (CINC), Secretary of Defense (SECDEF), National Military Command Center (NMCC), Combatant Commanders (CCDRs), Joint Force Commanders, and Service Component Commanders. GCCS-J offers vital connectivity to the systems the joint warfighter uses to plan, execute, and manage military operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
Works with and learns from the Program Manager/Deputy Program Manager and Chief Engineer to accomplish the following:
Develops and manages a robust Risk Program in accordance with DOD guidance and Leidos best practices for an agile software development project.
Records and monitors/tracks risks and mitigation plans using knowledge of DevSecOps environment.
Holds biweekly Risk meetings where risks to software development are reviewed, edited or closed.
Attends customer Risk meetings and produces notes within 24 hours.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience; Master’s degree and 2 to 6 years of relevant experience. Four (4) additional years of related experience will be acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
US citizenship.
Active DoD Secret security clearance is required for this position, with ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
Good verbal and written skills
Demonstrates strong work ethic, works well within an engineering team, mission oriented, and takes personal pride in work.
Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment
Experience in writing and maintaining source code, creating, and maintaining software applications and applying frameworks involved in a software release.
Experience must include computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release life cycle and resulting in a software product.
Expertise in one or more programming languages is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on any of the Global Command and Control System Family of Systems to include GCCS-A, GCCS-M or any other Command and Control program for any service component or COCOM.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
