The Defense Group at Leidos is currently seeking a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to support the DCGS-N SSI Team in San Diego, CA. You would work as part of a specialized team to achieve objectives and project deliverables.
Cyber Security Engineering encompasses the digital security for the DCGS-N Systems of Systems. The role includes but is not limited to operating cyber security scanning systems, preparing and maintain security documentation, evaluating software and infrastructure for vulnerabilities, and justifying or resolving system vulnerabilities.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide support to work with the PMW 120 Cybersecurity team to ensure software integration activities meet the Government security requirements, optimize user workflow, and reduce user workload and error.
Support the DCGS-N SSI team’s DevSecOps Solution to include the include basic understanding and use of the DevSecOps Environment and shall include the following tasks:
Provides resources with that understand and can use to the tools in PMW 120 environment, such as Artifactory JFrog Xray, Coverity, Jira and Confluence.
Support the PMW 120 DevSecOps team, develop a DCGS-N virtual software pipeline with the PMW 120 DevSecOps environment, and ensure the PMW 120 DevSecOps environment is configured in support of the DCGS-N software to be loaded in the environment.
Support the DCGS-N SSI Team a in conducting Cybersecurity hardening for the DCGS-N Inc 2 software systems and system accreditations and provide corrective actions to resolve or mitigate vulnerabilities that are identified in the lab environment, that consists of the following:
Develop, modify, review, and provide input for C&A packages for accreditation and re-accreditation by assessing the validity of vulnerabilities identified during formal Government accreditation testing in the lab environment
Validate software compliance and ensure the systems meet the accreditation requirements in a lab environment
Provide technical System Administration support to apply security fixes to lab environments, update, and execute automated test and build management tools, track changes to the environments and maintain documentation to support configuration management
Report all Category (CAT) 1 - 3 findings to the Government in a written report and upload in eMASS
Update documentation for the software and program technical descriptions in a lab environment
Attend development collaboration meetings with Echelon II, Certifying Authority (CA) and Designated Approving Authority as requested and provide detailed reports on what was discussed, and action items
Provide lab-based engineering guidance based on DoD and industry Security Best Business Practices, security requirements and Cybersecurity trends and solutions to include risk assessments and mitigation
Basic Qualifications:
Must have an active TS/SCI.
Bachelor’s Degree in IT/Cybersecurity/Computer Science and 8+ years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Understanding of performing analysis of general cyber related technical problems and finding computer system security solutions for these problems or risks.
Knowledge of Windows and Red Hat Linux environments.
Ability to develop cybersecurity documentation.
Experience with ACAS, Artifactory, JFrog, Xray, Coverity, Jira and eMASS, Confluence.
Experience and strong working knowledge of US Navy Cyber/Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements and instructions.
The necessary 8140 certification requirements to be a privileged user in the lab and cloud environments including but not limited to Security+ and an Environmental Certification.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
