The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within the Intelligence Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Chief Cloud Engineer (CCE).  The CCE will serve as the technical lead for a talented team providing Enterprise Cloud and IT Services to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) CyberSecurity &Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Services provided include cloud enterprise infrastructure, cloud enterprise platform, cloud enterprise service, provisioning of Cloud Service Provider (CSP) resources, cloud enterprise security, provisioning of connectivity between multiple networks, provisioning of Cloud Access Point – secure connectivity for CISA.  Additionally, the CCE will be responsible for providing near real-time cloud enterprise situational awareness, sustainment, cloud migration, and new capabilities.”

Leidos is looking for a Chief Cloud Engineer that will plan, coordinate, and manage the technical actions taken by the team to initiate and technically execute the work scope covered under this Government contract.  The CCE will interface with senior CISA leaders and directors to help maintain and sustain critical infrastructure. The CCE is responsible all technical performance and will serve as the Key point-of-contact with the program office for technical matters and issues.

The CCE will lead the technical strategy, solution development, and execution of systems and infrastructure information technology (IT) and support services. The CCE will provide comprehensive systems engineering oversight, analytical, and technical support services required to deliver a broad range of innovative IT solutions and professional services to modernize DHS legacy systems, protect their networks and assets, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of mission-critical and mission-support functions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • This role provides technical leadership and delivers an innovative product, service, or a combination of products and services that address a customer's specific requirements. 

  • Support the development of enterprise software solutions within AWS.  Duties include developing innovative approaches and solutions, using non-quantitative tools and guidelines from past-experience.

  • This role provides execution guidance and practical engineering support to mission teams working with the strategic guidance from the Cloud Engineering Lead.

  • Serve as the Leidos principal Cloud and IT engineer to provide engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of the Mission Focused CBP Enterprise Cloud Environment that will exceed mission requirements and enhance overall system security, performance, and availability

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must have an active TS/SCI

  • Extensive experience in Cloud Technologies and infrastructure -as-code concepts.

  • Understanding of aspects of architect and design enterprise cloud solutions and AWS. 

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills. 

  • Expert extensive experience interacting with cross functional project teams including Software Development, System Engineering/ Verification and Validation, Security, Compliance and Quality Assurance. 

  • Expert experience working in Agile, SAFe, and Scrum environments.

  • Expert experience working with DevOps CI/CD related technologies (Azure DevOPs, Git, Jenkins, Puppet, Docker, Confluence, Sonar Lint, and Junit.

  • Knowledge of Software Configuration Management life cycle deliverables. 

  • Minimum of one AWS Certification from the AWS Associate level (AWS Certified Architect Associate, AWS Certified Developer Associate, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate)

  • Candidate must have Master with 20 years of prior relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more AWS Certifications from the AWS Associate Level or AWS Professional Level: AWS Certified Architect Associate, AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional

  • One AWS Certification from the AWS Professional level or Specialty Domain

Pay Range:

Pay Range $139,750.00 - $215,000.00 - $290,250.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
