Job Description:
This position will perform Cyber SIEM SME application support on current and future SIEM products, ensure data feeds and application operation are maintained, and provide support to cyber security analysts in development of analytics and other operational aspects of the SIEM product.
About the Antarctic Support Contract:
Leidos Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is the prime contractor to the National Science Foundation (NSF) in support of the United States Antarctic Program (USAP). Leidos supports the NSF’s Office of Polar Program’s Antarctic Infrastructure and Logistics by aligning with their Mission and Vision Statements:

Mission: To provide the operational and logistical platform necessary for the U.S. to conduct world-class science in Antarctica and maintain its active and influential presence on the continent.
Leidos ASC provides science and logistics support for approximately 150 science and technical events across three geographically remote research stations; McMurdo Station, Palmer Station, and South Pole Station and several deep field sites across Antarctica. Each station or field site supports world class research across multiple science disciplines. The planning and implementation of science support requirements in Antarctica is a critical part of our mission.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide application support for current and future SIEM products.
Support cyber security analysts in development of analytics using SIEM.
Train cyber security analysts on operation and higher-level usage of SIEM.
Report outages/issues with the SIEM that can’t be fixed locally and track to completion of fix action.
Design, document, deploy, share, and support complex use-case content packages to adapt to current and future data feeds and sources. Content developed and implemented by Administrator shall include business logic, naming conventions, categorization, prioritization, correlation rules, report templates, use cases, and dashboard / workflow authoring.
Coordinate with the Information Security Team and other SMEs within the program to formulate and implement content-development best- practices.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience; additional work experience or Cyber courses/certifications may be accepted in lieu of degree.
In-depth knowledge of architecture, engineering, and operations of at least one enterprise SIEM platform (e.g., Splunk, Elastic/Kibana).
Demonstrated understanding of the life cycle of network threats, attacks, attack vectors and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and common security elements.
Demonstrated hands-on experience analyzing high volumes of logs, network data (e.g., NetFlow, Full Packet Capture), and other attack artifacts in support of incident investigations.
DoD 8570 IAT level II or higher certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, SANS GSEC prior to starting.
SPLUNK SIEM SME Certification: Splunk Core Certified Power User or more advanced certification is required within 180 days of hire.
DOD 8570 CSSP-A level Certification such as CEH, CySA+, GCIA or other certification is required within 180 days of hire.
Demonstrated commitment to training, self-study and maintaining proficiency in the technical cyber security domain and an ability to think and work independently.
Willing to perform shift work.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced certifications involving operation, maintenance, administration of at least one enterprise SIEM platform (e.g., Splunk, Elastic/Kibana).
Unix/Linux command line experience.
Motivated self-starter and the ability to create complex technical reports on analytic findings.
Experience and proficiency with any of the following: Anti-Virus, HIPS/HBSS, IDS/IPS, Full Packet Capture, Network Forensics.
Familiarity or experience in Intelligence Driven Defense and/or Cyber Kill Chain methodology.
Must be a US Citizen.
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
