Leidos is looking for a high performing candidate to fill a position supporting the nation's nuclear deterrence mission with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Defense Programs Tritium Program Office as a Communication Specialist.
The Communication Specialist acts as the program’s information expert, from both a communication and programmatic perspective. The chosen applicant will manage communication and document activities contributing to the successful execution of a long-term multi-million dollar nuclear material program and be responsible for maintaining a document management protocol for the program. In addition, the specialist will support the program management office with technical editing, developing meeting agendas and minutes, and preparing briefings and talking points, accurately reflecting programmatic information in a clear, easy-to-understand manner.
Managing numerous information requests from senior managers, office leadership, and outside government entities.
Preparing documentation, talking points, and briefings; performing technical editing and quality control for technical and non-technical documents.
Preparing and implementing organization communication plans and protocols, ensuring compliance and consistency with higher-level processes and procedures.
Establishing/maintaining the document control process and directing the program team in its implementation.
Maintaining standards for program documentation and directing the program team in their use, to ensure documents meet editorial and government standards for quality, graphics, format and style.
Maintaining document and records repositories under configuration control.
Attending program reviews, conferences, workshops, and other program-related meetings; recording and transcribing meeting minutes and action items and publishing them to the appropriate audience.
Writing, editing, and maintaining program documentation, and coordinating the review and approval process.
Summarizing necessary information from larger documents to provide to the program office for action or information purposes.
Assisting the program office with tracking program and office action items and deliverables.
Requires a BA degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
Minimum of 4 – 8 years of related experience with document management and technical editing.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite with particular emphasis on word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel and SharePoint)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in producing correspondence, briefings and program plans for senior managers.
Related experience in a government, DOE, or military office.
Experience in implementing a records management plan in accordance with National Archives and Records Administration policies and practices for Federal agencies.
An active DOE Q clearance is required for this position.
Pay Range:Pay Range $72,150.00 - $111,000.00 - $149,850.00
