Leidos is Making the world safer, healthier, and more efficient. The Defense Group of Leidos has an opening for a Lead Field Service Technician to work on customer site at Army Futures Command (AFC) in Austin, TX.
JOB SUMMARY:
The ideal candidate will lead the team that is responsible for IT repair, maintenance, operations, and engineering services providing remote and site service, repair and/or installation support of existing hardware, software, network configurations and new system initiatives to ensure that the organization's information technology infrastructure is operating securely, reliably and efficiently. This individual also acts as the Site Lead addressing local staffing and reporting requirements, interfacing across multiple teams, with the local Government Customer leadership and reporting up the Leidos Program Manager.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As Field Service Technician, perform job duties related to both Systems Administration and Network Support Technician. Responsible for monitoring and responding to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Responsible for Installation, configuration, and support of the customer’s local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN), Intranet and Internet, and other data communications systems. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer and server software.
As Site Lead, manage technical staff while communicating across teams and with customers and Leidos program managers. For entire projects, responsible for personnel and project management at the Site such as assigns personnel to various projects, directs their activities, and evaluates their work. Manage entire projects spanning multiple technical areas, working to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables. Provides primary interface with contractor support service groups.
Primary Responsibilities of the combined Field Service Technician / Site Lead will include:
Perform systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks.
System management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions
Install, administer, and maintain Windows servers, workstations, laptops, and basic cabling as part of the overall systems architecture across multiple networks and locations
Monitor device and network health, configurations, and information assurance patching to ensure network systems meet technical, performance and availability requirements
Maintain required security posture on all network equipment in accordance with DoD and local command mandates and requirements, including updates, STIGs, IOS upgrades, and other basic network security requirements
Manage day‐to‐day IT operations, including service desk, desktop, server, storage, and network administration, VTC scheduling and operations support, and hardware support
Acts as first-level supervisor for site employees. Manage personnel and their operational and project-related workloads. Provide guidance and direction as needed
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Must currently possess an active TS/SCI
Minimum Education / Experience Level: BA/BS degree in technology related field and 12 years of in-depth experience in design, configuration, operations, and troubleshooting of IT systems
MA/MS degree in technology related field with 10 years of experience also meets the requirements
Current cyber workforce certification at IAT Level II, such as CompTIA Security+ CE
Or other equivalent certification defined in DoDD 8140.01 (Formerly DoDD 8570.01M)
Currently possess at least one (1) Computing Environment certification such as:
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or other equivalent associate-level networking certification
Intermediate-level Microsoft certification such as MCSA: Windows Server 2016 or Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate
3+ years of experience managing teams of IT professionals
Must be able to work independently to be the primary customer interface, manage time effectively, prioritize problems, and reporting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and technical teammates across multiple areas
Extensive knowledge of PC/network communications hardware/software in a multi- protocol environment, and network management software.
Enterprise-level IT networking experience with monitoring and maintenance of IT and network devices, security and storage systems
Expert knowledge of IT and network security best practices and protocols and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
IT services management certification, such as ITIL Foundation
Training towards PMI Project Management Professional
Additional Computing Environment certifications in storage, networking, systems administration, and cloud such as:
Intermediate-level Microsoft server certification such as MCSA: Windows Server 2016/2019 or newer or other Role-based Microsoft Certified Associate in relevant area such as:
Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate, or
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
VMware Certified Technical Associate 2022 or other equivalent, recent associate-level virtualization certificate
Pay Range:
Pay Range $72,150.00 - $111,000.00 - $149,850.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
