Job Description:
The Leidos Transportation Solutions group is seeking an entry level Associate Systems Integration Engineer who will be a member of a dynamic team working on the integration and testing of software that improves aircraft runway and terminal congestion. Nationwide congestion is increasing, and the need for efficient aircraft traffic planning is critical. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) is the surface management solution that will provide NextGen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operations in the National Airspace System. TFDM will share data among controllers, aircraft operators, and airports so they can better sequence arrivals and departures and manage traffic flow within terminal airspace for greater efficiency. In this position, you will join a team of experienced integration and test engineers. Work entails systems integration, test engineering, and scenario development.
Primary Responsibilities
Working both as a member of a team and independently the successful candidate will:
- Optimize the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control, and the airline industry by improving the collaboration and decision-making capabilities of flight controllers
- Integrate and test the TFDM system software and hardware
- Develop and executing test procedures to verify requirements
- Open Program Trouble Reports (PTRs) when problems are identified and verifying PTRs when they are fixed
- Analyzing data recorded by the system to verify design requirements
- Write, execute, and debug test productivity tools and scripts
- Performing regression testing to ensure previously tested software still performs after changes have been made
- Interface with the Systems Engineering organization to discuss requirements and the Software Development organization to debug software and hardware issues.
Basic Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related engineering field of study.
Experience with the Linux operating system.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.

Preferred Qualifications
A good academic understanding and/or exposure to developing test procedures and executing software and system tests.
Knowledge or experience related to Air Traffic Control.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $53,300.00 - $82,000.00 - $110,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
