Job Description:

The GIG Service Management – Operations II (GSM-O II), a program within the Defense Group of Leidos, has an opening for a Network Performance and Reliability (NPR) Analyst in Scott AFB, IL.  The NPR Team is a community of analysts with backgrounds in diverse technologies.  Our customer is the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) located at Scott AFB, IL and acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. 

Details of the Role:

  • Support the NPR team as they utilize available network performance, event, and incident data to identify and resolve underlying network anomalies and problems to improve overall DISN network reliability. 

  • Proactively identify and assess DISN problems and incidents.  When possible, troubleshoot, resolve and provide root cause analysis.  This includes serving as a high-level Problem Coordinator and working directly with both Tiers 2 & 3 and aiding as needed.

  • Support GSMO-program driven Innovations, including development, integration, and continuous improvement by leveraging existing processes, data, and tools.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support and enhance improving network and service availability, reliability, and performance utilizing analytics and innovation. 

  • Collect, analyze, and correlate diverse data to identify trends and relations.  This includes examining incident and event management artifacts to identify positive and negative trends occurring in the network and developing courses of action.

  • Identify proactive remediation measures to ensure continued operability while enhancing and Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) network efficiency.    

  • Develop preventative measures and dashboard capabilities using historical data trends to correlate signatures and identify root causes and suggest corrective action(s).

  • Use data to identify underlying issues and the risks they pose. 

  • Deliver best practice / experience-based process documentation guidance and assistance.

  • Coordinate with other contractor and government entities to ensure optimum dissemination of information.    

Education and Experience Required:    

  • Requires BS degree and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree. 

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel to include development of charts and graphs.

  • A history of successfully troubleshooting within the UC & Gateway Services environment (e.g. EVoIP, VoIP, VISP, VCAP, ECVoIP, VOSIP, DRSN, DECTK, SNLC, and GVS systems).

  • Ability to apply technical principles, theories, with a broad understanding of other related specialty areas including Trouble Management, Change Management and SLA Management.

  • Currently possesses an active DoD Secret Security Clearance with eligibility for a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). 

  • Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II, Security+ CE or CCNA Security.

  • Proficient written and verbal skills.

  • Collaborate well in a team environment.

  • Develop and employ automation in support of both internal and external network management practices to improve overall service availability. 

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience actively managing and configuring Cisco and Avaya Internet Protocol (IP) telephone switches,  Junos and Cisco Internetwork Operating System (IOS) devices, Oracle and Cisco Session Border Controllers, and other IP devices is a plus. 

  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting transport and/or network-related degradations  and outages.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant IT engineering discipline.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Access to include SQL and VBA coding.

  • Knowledge and experience with BMC Remedy and BMC ITSM is a plus.

  • Experience with Splunk, Elastic Search, Kibana, CA Performance Management, CA eHealth is a plus.

  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools.

  • Experience with coding in languages including but not limited to Expect, Python, SQL, and/or Perl.


Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $100,000.00 - $135,000.00
