In this role, you will serve as a senior advisor to the Director of Human Capital and Business Operations to resolve emerging issues and problems. To be successful, you need prior experience exercising mature judgment and making independent decisions in accordance with established policies, rules, and procedures.
You must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
This full-time position at the Department of Energy Forrestal Building in Washington, D.C. with 2-3 days of telework allowed as approved by the customer.
- Serve as senior advisor to the Director and staff to resolve emerging issues and problems.
- Assist the Director and staff to coordinate activities with subordinate units to help resolve issues, and ensure proper development, implementation and execution of policy and programs.
- Interpret existing strategic guidance and policy, and analyze applicability and relevance. Propose revisions, elimination, or draft new policy/guidance.
- Analyze broad and highly difficult assignments that require applying a series of processes and methods that require analysis of key programs of broad scope.
- Articulate and communicate to the team the assignment, project, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion.
- Monitor and report on the status and progress of work, checking work in progress, and reviewing completed work to ensure that the Director’s instruction on work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality have been met.
- Manage special projects with impact at all levels where one or multiple functions are involved. Ensure effective communication, action management, and assigned special project outcomes in support of executive priorities and goals.
- Organize project team efforts, develop, and recommend proposals for improvement and resolve integration issues.
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years of experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q
- Experience as a Federal employee or contractor
- Knowledge of program and project management principles and techniques sufficient to comprehend program guidance and provide program and project recommendations to technical staff and to assess program and project performance against established goals and objectives.
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment and have the ability to interface with a broad range of federal civilian and military senior staff and leadership.
- Ability to independently prioritize activities, meet deadlines, track actions, and follow through on multiple (often unanticipated) daily, weekly, and monthly tasks
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, orally and in writing
- Master’s degree
- PMP certification
- 20 or more years of experience
- Experience as Federal employee or contractor in DOE/NNSA
Pay Range:Pay Range $101,400.00 - $156,000.00 - $210,600.00
