More About the Role:
This Data Domain Architect opportunity on the U.S. Navy’s Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program will allow participation on a high-visibility DoD program that provides engineering support to the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), the largest information technology (IT) network in the world.  This position will provide many opportunities to challenge and grow your skills.

A successful candidate will provide technical leadership relating to Data Management governance and architecture, including definition, design, structure, data protection/security, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and delivering innovative ITSM strategies, services and solutions to the NMCI.  The candidate will develop innovative approaches to technical issues and problems that impact multiple areas or disciplines including solutions for Data Management capabilities, such as metadata management and data quality, to improve situational awareness and network maneuverability.  The structured and unstructured data and information required to support the NMCI network is extensive consisting of data feeds between systems, architectural specifications, technical configurations, drawings, diagrams, and other operational data that is dynamic in nature. The candidate coordinates with Service Delivery Managers, ITSM process managers, Domain Architects, project managers, customers, stakeholders, and engineers to support ongoing activities as well as new projects to maintain, transform, and modernize the NMCI.

What You'll Get to Do:
•Establish processes, procedures, and technical solutions for Data Management oversight ensuring that all types of structured and unstructured data that support business and operational services are available for use and are managed during the entire data life cycle.
•Work with Leidos and customer process and service owner/managers to develop strategy and concept of operations.  Develop solutions that are highly innovative (including but not limited to AI/ML) and achieved through research and integration of best practices and positively impact the strategic project and program goals and business results. 
•Uses data mapping, data mining, and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. 
•Analyze data feeds between systems; establish and/or review metadata standards, data dictionaries, and interface control documents; develop architectural specifications, technical configurations, drawings, diagrams, and other operational data artifacts, along with ensuring user data integrity, maintaining database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, recovery and back up procedures.
•Establish and maintain clear communications with executive leadership (internally or externally) as well as maintain transparent and respectful working relationships with leadership by site, team members, and Leidos representatives.
•Resolve highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation.
•Analyze process improvement areas/recommend changes to processes/procedures for efficiencies/cost-savings.
•Support significant collaboration and coordination with external customers, management, subcontractors, vendors, and other disciplines.
•Comply with government and Leidos ITSM policies, processes and procedures.
•Comply with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) governance.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Requires B.S. Degree and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 13 years of prior relevant experience (in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university).
•12+ or more years’ experience of relevant experience on IT or development programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
•Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Secret clearance to start the program.
•ITIL 4 Foundations certification or ability to obtain in first 6 months of job start.
•Experience working in large information technology enterprise environments.
•Experience with enterprise data requirements analysis and/or architecture synthesis and design.
•Experience in collaborating with other enterprise technologists both internal and external to resolve complex technical issues.
•Travel may be required.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Experience applying systems engineering fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments.
•Experience with Agile/Scrum.
•Experience working on DoD programs.
•Familiarity with industry MBSE tools and modeling methodologies to successfully produce systems engineering models.
•Familiarity with DODAF products.
•Familiarity with DESMF or ITSM.
•Certifications:
    -INCOSE CSEP.
    -Security+.
    -Other SE related certifications.
 

Pay Range:

Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
