We are in search of a Network Security Cloud Engineer to join our project that will assist the Internal Revenue Service in delivering a multi-cloud environment to transition network monitoring tools and applications from on premise to the cloud environment. As a core member of the IRS User Network Services Division you will play a critical role in supporting and evolving the critical cloud infrastructure. This position will be based out of Lanham, MD but offers a flexible, mostly remote work arrangement with two days in the office per month.

In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Engineering and maintaining network security controls in Cloud environments
- Performing Cloud Security Assessments of Cloud platforms/environments using industry standard frameworks such as SOC, ISO or NIST
- Identifying gaps in security posture and prioritizing remediation efforts
- Maintaining design patterns, standards and best practices for Cloud SecOps
- Supporting core teams in developing secure Cloud infrastructure
- Driving implementation of countermeasures, mitigations, and containment
- Managing and improving infrastructure level security capabilities e.g., firewalls, DDoS protection network/fault domain isolation, IAM policy generation and enforcement, user/resource movement monitoring within the cloud environment and other access controls
- Work closely with various team members to refine the risk strategy for cloud architecture
- Additional responsibilities as necessary to support the environment
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field. However, additional years of related experience and certifications will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 4+ years of experience in network security engineering
- 3+ years’ experience with Cloud services (AWS/Azure) and demonstrated knowledge of services and controls.
- Hands-on experience in developing, maintaining, and supporting data center and cloud network Infrastructure.
- AWS SysOps Administrator Associate Certification
- Level 3 network experience covering network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls and load balancers.
- Experience in supporting global network, IP and related security services, troubleshooting to resolve complex system and network issues and outages.

Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Advanced Networking Specialty Certification

*Background Check Requirements: Candidates must be able to pass an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBS) security background check prior to starting because of access to systems and data that rides on this network. Candidate must be up to date on all tax filing and payments, if not, candidate will not be considered. US Citizenship or Permanent Resident with at least 3 years of US residency.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $74,750.00 - $115,000.00 - $155,250.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
