Job Description:
Leidos has a Lead Software Engineer position open in Omaha, NE supporting the Command & Control Software Engineering & Support (C2SES) 4 contract. This position is responsible for writing and maintaining source code, creating and maintaining software applications and applying frameworks involved in a software release. Duties include computer programming, documenting, managing configuration, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications and frameworks involved in a software release life cycle and resulting in a software product. The successful candidate will serve as an enabler in terms of ensuring that the schedule is planned and executed to keep pace with the development activities, serves as a technical liaison between the Contractor and Government and uses a variety of approaches to ensure customer requirements are met. This position requires the ability to work independently with little supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
Resolves highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation.
Develops solutions that are highly innovative, and achieved through research and integration of best practices.
Participate in planning, definition, and high-level design of the solutions or alternatives.
Enable the Continuous Delivery Pipeline through appropriate design guidelines.
Actively participate in the Continuous Exploration process as part of the Continuous Delivery Pipeline, especially in identification, planning, and execution of technical work.
Communicate with the customer executive leadership regarding all technical matters on the project.
Define subsystems and their interfaces, allocate responsibilities to subsystems, understand solution deployment, and communicate requirements for interactions with solution context.
Support technology/engineering aspects of Program planning and execution.
Provide oversight and foster Built-In Quality and Team and Technical Agility.
Work directly with Agile Team(s) to determine velocity, prioritize tasks, implement requirements and implement automated testing concepts.
Manage Product Backlog and assist the Product Owner to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value.
Perform lessons learned and/or root cause analysis for production issues and provide resolutions in a timely manner.
Recommend improvements to existing software applications, as necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree in a technical discipline with 12+ years of recent experience with Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) from conception through end of life. Experience should include using iterative development, test driven development, introducing testing concepts (both manual and automated) early in the process, and installation and troubleshooting techniques.
5 years’ experience leading projects using Agile/Scrum development processes and DevSecOps (including continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) and associated automation techniques) principles.
Experience being a partner in successful transition to an incremental delivery methodology from a waterfall methodology a plus.
Must possess a Top-Secret clearance based on a Special Background Investigation and be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), Nuclear Command and Control (NC2) and Special Access Program (SAP) access.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience transitioning a program from a waterfall to an incremental delivery methodology.
Experience with USSTRATCOM ISPAN domain.
Experience with the C2SES Suite of Software Applications: NPES, FSR, and FSAM.
Certified Scrum Master.
DOD 8570 IAT level 2 baseline certification.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $113,100.00 - $174,000.00 - $234,900.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
