Leidos is seeking an Information Assurance Specialist to join our team in support of work for our customer. This position will consist of a rotation schedule and will be primarily located in Ventura, CA. We are expecting award in Fall 2022.
Primary Responsibilities:
Duties include managing risks related to the use of processing, storing, or transmitting information to reduce or eliminate impact, integrity, or availability of information and information systems.
Identification of Cybersecurity problems which may require mitigating controls.
Analyze network traffic to identify exploit or intrusion related attempts.
Recommend detection mechanisms for exploit and or intrusion related attempts.
Provide subject matter expertise on network-based attacks, network traffic analysis, and intrusion methodologies.
Escalate items which require further investigation to other members of the Threat Management team.
Execute operational processes in support of response efforts to identified security incidents.
Participates in a team of Security operations engineers investigating alerts, anomalies, errors, intrusions, malware, etc. to identify the responsible, determine remediation, and recommend security improvements.
Follows precise analytical paths to determine the nature and extent of problems being reported by tools, e-mails, etc.
Follows strict guidance on reporting requirements.
Keeps management informed with precise information about security posture.
Engages with other internal and external parties to get and share information to improve processes and security posture.
Leads analyzing/investigating reports or anomalies.
Perform collateral duties in security, safety areas.
Ability to lift 40lbs
You will participate in Leidos and Government safety programs.
This position will require close cooperation and working relationships with active-duty military and other Government personnel.
Basic Qualifications:
Position requires the ability to perform in an arduous duty environment.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university ideally in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 4 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) or Network Engineer on programs and/or contracts. Four (4) additional years of related experience will be acceptable in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
US citizen with ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Strong writing skills.
Experience developing and documenting system security requirements and conducting requirements gap analysis.
Experience doing risk assessments.
Familiarity with the Certification and Authorization (C&A) Process
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Secret Security Clearance.
Prior US military service, preferably Navy and on a Surface Navy platform
Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
