Job Description:
The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within Leidos is seeking a Database Developer with strong systems, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems on a mission-critical program supporting the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States. The majority of work can be done remotely, with occasional onsite presence in Ashburn, VA.
In this hands-on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real-time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines, and other resource constraints. You will participate in and/or direct major deliverable of projects through all aspects of the software development life cycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing.
Primary Responsibilities:
The customer is in the process of AWS cloud migration and requires support to move away from Oracle database to AWS Postgres RDS and the primary responsibility of the position is to convert database objects written in PLSQL code to PgSQL with support from AWS SCT generated report. The position is responsible for providing hands-on support to the application teams in migrating their IBM MQ based middleware services to AWS Active MQ messaging platform.
Basic Qualifications:
BS/BA degree and 12+ years of experience or Master’s with 10+ years of experience; OR 4 years of experience in lieu of degree
Must have experience working with Oracle, Postgres databases, AWS RDS for Postgres in developing database objects (Functions, Packages, Stored Procedures, Triggers, Indices etc) using PL/SQL, PgSQL language and/or refactor middleware services to migrate from IBM MQ to AWS Active MQ or Kafka messaging platform.
Proficient in JAVA, JavaScript, Spring, Spring Boot, ORM frameworks (JPA, Hibernate) Webservices (SOAP, REST) Database programming languages PL/SQL, PgSQL, messaging queue brokers IBM MQ, Active MQ
2-3 years’ experience developing cloud ready applications and/or experience migrating applications to the cloud.
Experience with Agile Scrum methodology and working in a SecDevOps environment
Experience in converting an existing Java/Spring based application into microservices and containerized based architecture.
Hands-on experience using CI/CD pipelines for build, test, scan and deployment
2+ years experience with Microservices/RESTful APIs
Must be able to maintain and obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certifications
Top Secret Clearance or Full DHS BI
Pay Range:
Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
