Leidos is seeking Software and Signal Processing Interns in Ann Arbor, MI. We are leaders in the exploitation of airborne and satellite imagery for automated target detection and classification. Much of our current work focuses on processing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery providing day or night all weather imagery from air and space. We are looking for someone to join our technical team who can support our existing research programs. This is an opportunity to use your signal/image processing and software expertise to conduct applied research, software development, and transition new and innovative solutions to address difficult surveillance problems in the defense and intelligence communities. Leidos will provide the successful candidate with real world experience as well as technical and career mentorship throughout the internship, which may result in full-time employment opportunities upon graduation.
Primary Responsibilities
The internship provides the candidate with a valuable opportunity to work with a skilled team in a variety of engineering roles.
Working with teams on the research, design, and development of sensor exploitation systems including signal processing, sensor exploitation, automatic target recognition, and signature modeling.
Quickly understanding legacy tools and then engineering improvements to meet new program requirements.
Use sound software engineering and object oriented principles to ensure that developed code is maintainable, efficient, reliable, understandable, secure and fault tolerant.
Basic Qualifications
Working toward a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math, or a closely related field.
Must have the ability of obtaining a DoD Secret Level Security Clearance (if hired, Leidos will guide you through the application process)
US Citizenship Required
Experience with Object Oriented programming languages (C++, Java, etc.)
Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
Experience developing software in a Linux environment
Familiarity with software configuration control
Preferred Qualifications
Experience creating solutions with Python and/or MATLAB
Experience in signal processing, deep learning, computer vision, and/or remote sensing
Experience processing radar/SAR image data
Demonstrated success completing projects with small teams
Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
