Leidos is currently seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to support the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in San Diego, CA. The Administrative Assistant will be primarily responsible for preparing and tracking office correspondence within NHRC and the Navy Enterprise labs, maintaining and reviewing official records, as well as processing a variety of administrative tasks. The selected candidate will provide assistance with creating and organizing office files, maintaining calendars, and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge of current federal, DoD, and Navy regulations required for Navy correspondence.
Following initial on-site training, this will be a hybrid position with a requirement to work on-site at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA approximately 2-3 days a week. Work hours to coincide with the standard command business hours of 0700-1630 and occasional earlier. The number of days on-site may vary depending on training and office needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and office automation support between the Naval Health Research Center and Naval Medical Research Unit-3.
Prepare and review all correspondence to ensure accordance with the Navy Correspondence Manual and other appropriate directives.
Effectively communicate with in-house research teams, external collaborators, and other administrative staff to help facilitate implementation of new or changing policies and processes.
Maintain departmental trackers, calendars, command records, and official publications; Review and recommend improvements to existing SOPs and instructions.
Remain current on DoD, BUMED, and Navy regulations; Monitor the impact of changing regulations on command policy, directives, and processes.
Perform support functions such as compiling reports, setting up meetings for upper management, and submit forms through electronic approval routing systems.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years relevant experience
Knowledge of current DoD and Navy regulations required for Navy correspondence.
Admin experience working with Navy command instructions, records, and forms.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Due to federal contract restrictions, candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Desired Qualifications
Former experience as a Navy Yeoman or equivalent within the last 5-10 years
Working knowledge of Navy medical R&D activities and the government and military in general.
Previous or current clearance or history of a completed government background check.
Previous experience using Microsoft SharePoint

Pay Range:
Pay Range $36,400.00 - $56,000.00 - $75,600.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
