Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities
- Facilitates for an agile development team within the SAFe framework.
- Leads the organization and change agent for Lean-Agile techniques, processes, and principles.
- Helps the other team members communicate, coordinate, and cooperate; with the goal of assisting the team meet their Iteration Objectives.
- Supports and reinforces the team rules.
- Facilitates the team’s progress toward team goals. Continuously engaged in challenging the team to improve performance, quality, predictability, and velocity.
- Leads team efforts in relentless improvement – Helps the team improve and take responsibility for their actions; facilitates the team retrospective. Teaches problem solving techniques and helps the team become better problem-solvers for themselves.
- Facilitates meetings – Facilitates all team meetings, including (where applicable) the Daily Stand-up, Iteration Planning, Iteration Review, and Iteration Retrospective.
- Supports the Product Owner – The Scrum Master helps the Product Owner in their efforts to manage the backlog and guide the team while facilitating a healthy team dynamic with respect to priorities and scope.
- Eliminates impediments – Many blocking issues will be beyond the team’s authority or may require support from other teams. The Scrum Master actively addresses these issues so that the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the Iteration.
- Protects and communicates – Communicates with management and outside stakeholders; helps protect the team from uncontrolled expansion of work.
- Facilitates preparation and readiness for ART events – Assists the team in preparation for ART activities, including PI Planning, System Demos, and the Inspect and Adapt.
- Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
- Plans and leads major technology assignments.
- Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
- Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
- May supervise others.
Basic Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
- 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience
- 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects
- Successful management and teaching/coaching experience a must.
- Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM, PSM, and SSM)
- Ability to think independently and contribute to the overall effort without much direction
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently to develop creative solutions
- Ability to work well within a small team environment
- Strong communication skills
- US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications
- SAFe certification(s)
- Comfortable working across business and IT domains, and possess the ability to shift between technical analysis and business value discussions
- Willingness to keep program abreast of trends in the GIS, software development, defense/ intelligence industries, and competing products and vendors
- Software development tools: JIRA, Confluence
- DOD Secret Clearance is required.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
