The Defense Group at Leidos has a dynamic opportunity for a Systems Engineer to work at our customer site at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA while helping the US BICES-X (US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended) war fighters achieve their mission.
US BICES-X is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. The US BICES-X Coalition Integration Lab (CIL) is the enduring solution for intelligence sharing. Meeting the challenge of complex 21st century operational requirements, the US BICES-X CIL is a leader in making systems and tools available to trusted stakeholders in a distributed, Coalition Shared Data environment. Located at JB Langley-Eustis, the CIL provides a reliable resource to advance the Initial Operating Capability of NATO Joint Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance.
What Will You Do
Perform complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis
and design, and analog or digital systems engineering
Perform systems modeling, simulation, and analysis
Review completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients.
Plan and direct upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements
Develop documentation on new or existing systems
Develop and direct tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements
Identify, analyze, and resolve system problems
Provide system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance
Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and workin parameters for hardware/software compatibility
Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibilities
Serve as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met
Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology and participates in special projects as required
What Sets You Apart (job qualifications)
A Bachelor's degree with 5 or more years of related systems engineering experience
A current DoD Secret level of clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI
Active DoD 8570.1 IAT Level II certification
Experience In:
VM Ware
Linux
Applying STIG's
Vendor relationships and cost estimation
Administering Windows Server Domains and working with NetApp appliances
Travel - Up to 10% travel may be required
Preferred (nice to have)
Experience with Solarwinds, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, and PowerCli.
MS Windows Certification (MCSA/MCSE) and/or VMware Certification
Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
