Leidos is seeking a Sr. Tech Writer that will be responsible for creating high-quality technical documentation for a variety of audiences, including end users, technical staff, and management. This includes developing and maintaining migration plans, presentations, and online help systems. The Technical Writer will also be responsible for collaborating with subject matter experts to gather and organize technical information, as well as reviewing and editing documents for accuracy, clarity, and style.

This role will support the effort to discover, analyze and design IT migration plans for over twenty large-scale DoD agencies. Leidos needs the best talent in the industry to accommodate the size, scope, and complexity of this effort. A successful candidate will be well-rounded, producing quality work with special attention to the right details.

PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The DES program supports a highly demanding mission and requires support from top technical and management talent to migrate common IT services for over twenty DoD agencies under a common platform. You will play a key role in performing the discovery, design, and migration tasks in support of building a world-class Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense. 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: 
•Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Create high-quality technical documentation, including migration plans, presentations, and online help systems.

•Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and organize technical information.

•Review and edit documents for accuracy, clarity, and style.

•Use various software tools, such as screen capture and illustration software, to create visually appealing documents.

•Maintain documentation standards and ensure that documentation is consistent with branding.

•Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices in technical writing.

•May lead/supervise technical writers.​

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•MUST have strong writing skills and expect to perform extensive writing.

•Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

•Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

•Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, and Adobe publication tools.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Consulting firm experience is highly desirable.
•Knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies.

•ITIL certification.

Pay Range:

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
