Leidos is seeking a Lead - Sr. Linux Systems Administrator in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) located at Scott AFB, IL.  

DISA acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD), and national security organizations.  The candidate will maintain the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems on a global network management system.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use advanced knowledge of Linus/Unix technical skills to perform as the technical lead for the program Linux Admin team consisting of 8-10 Linux Admins.
• Assign daily technical responsibilities to other Linux team personnel
• Provide technical input for Linux/Unix issues, plans, upgrades as needed.
• Provides coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff.
• Be able to work in a rapid paced environment and must be able to work independently.
• Lead the onboarding and standup of new enclaves and compute environments.
• The candidate works independently to maintain the smooth operation of a multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators.
• Duties include setting up administrator and service accounts, tuning system performance, installing system wide software.
• Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
• Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
• Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
• Creates, maintains, and implements detailed documentation and maintains standard operating procedures.
• Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
• Provides support on a M-F business hours schedule, also responsible for on-call, extended hour, and weekend support as required by mission or emergencies.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor's degree and 8 years of overall related experience with server environment. Specific experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Extensive experience working with virtual environments using VMware
• Shell scripting (e.g. bash) and experience in other languages like Perl, Python, and Java.
• Application of security settings and other commercial best practices such as DISA STIGS.
• Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (such as FireEye and McAfee sensors and sandboxes)
• Security Incident Event Management (SIEM) including Splunk
• Currently possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret is required for this position.
• Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at least IAT level II, e.g. Security+ce.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Integration of cyber security tools and systems with network performance, trouble ticketing, and security subsystems highly desired.  
• Experience with support systems to include enclave Ethernet switches, storage area networks (SAN), and network attached storage (NAS). 
• Candidates with a thorough knowledge of networking principles to included TCP/IP a plus. 
• Experience with a ticketing system such as BMC Remedy.
• Windows Server experience.
