Leidos is seeking an entry-level Quality Control Representative to support the Maritime System Division (MSD) in Sterling, VA, an AS-9100 certified facility. The successful candidate shall work as a Quality Control Representative (QC Rep) for a hardware-production and integration facility supporting DoD customers. The scope of the business activities includes critical control systems including 25 product lines of rugged displays and computers and integrated rack systems for various Navy activities, shipbuilders, and integrators.
Primary Responsibilities
The candidate shall:
- Ensure quality is maintained from materials receipts, production, and through shipment
- Inspect, verify, and document that finished goods meet documented specifications / requirements
- Perform quality inspections of in-process production items and finished products according to written procedures and standards
- Perform incoming inspection of materials to ensure conformance to drawings, specification documents, or other requirements documentation
- Ensure assembly documentation is current, identify redlines through engineering change notice (ECN), and provide updated documentation to end-users and stakeholders
- Halt production line if major non-compliance of specifications, standards, or quality is found during the inspection process
- Complete Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-conforming products and materials
- Complete deviation forms and record findings of inspection process
- Apply defect analysis to investigate, categorize, resolve, and report manufacturing defects
- Maintain inspection logs
- Assist QA Leadership in physical control of non-conforming products and materials
- Complete staged production audits and document as required
- Communicate quality problems with QA, and Production Leadership, fellow QC auditors
- Complete operational paperwork validations as required (receiving, production shipping)
- Complete quality related paperwork as required by project or contract (e.g., Certificates of Compliance, Mercury Free, etc.)
- Participate and support continuous improvement objectives of the department and operation
- Collateral duties may include control and print UID product tags, update the UID database, review / edit departmental process and work forms, and other activities as directed
- Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for process and product non-conformities
- Support metrics/ key performance indicators development, compilation, and analysis
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 1-3 years prior experience in manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and analytical skills required
- Ability to work closely with all levels of staff and management
- Ability to manage many activities simultaneously
- Ability and willingness to work through issues with all levels of team members
- Experience with General Quality Control and Quality Assurance Procedures
- Self-starter with attention to detail / observant
- Able to interpret written specifications and drawings
- Ability to stand for long period of time
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to work in normal warehouse/production environment
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience performing related duties described above
- Proficient in MS Office and FileMaker database
- Possess foundational understanding of acceptable quality level (AQL), ISO, Lean, Root Cause Analysis, Configuration Management, Revision Control, and Quality Management System
Pay Range:
Pay Range $37,050.00 - $57,000.00 - $76,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
