The Leidos Defense group has an opening for a highly motivated individual. The Network Planning Analyst position at MacDill AFB, FL supports the Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSM-O II), Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE). The JCSE team provides en-route, early entry, scalable C4 support to Regional Combatant Commands, Special Operations Command, and other agencies. In this role, you will be responsible for mission capability requirements and design, system assessments, and providing engineering/planning support to SATCOM Missions and customer. Key elements of this position include: Experience with tactical mission support and the development of SATCOM missions including a familiarity with DISA and DoD Satellite provisioning processes.  Strong networking and RF communications experience.  Detailed approach to problem solving.  Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with all levels of customers and senior leadership.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Work with a wide range of unit operational planners and external government personnel to develop and provision communications architecture plans to meet C4I mission and exercise objectives.
  • Provide Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4) support to the Element’s engineering, planning, training, and operational efforts. Organize, and evaluate communications networks, confirm information technology equipment interoperability, conduct and process After Action Reviews (AAR) for all missions and exercises JCSE supports.
  • Assist with the development of comprehensive tactical communications architecture plans which will detail information technology equipment selection, installation, configuration, and other parameters to support actionable accomplishment of a tactical communications network architecture supporting an operational mission or exercise. 
  • Develop full end-to-end operational network architectures in order to meet tactical user requirements encompassing data, satellite, single channel radio, voice, and video requirements.
  • Prepare and submit communications services requests in support of unit exercise and training events within timeframes published by governing agencies. Experience with the following is ideal: Satellite Access Request (SAR), Gateway Access Request (GAR), Telecommunications Service Requests (TSR), Global Broadcast Requests, and Interim/Approval to Operate (IATO/ATO), and connection approvals.
  • Manage JCSE LAN/WAN and Satellite network resources to include Internet Protocol (IP) address space; range of tactical phone numbers (DSN, VoIP, and VoSIP), and terrestrial circuits.
  • Produce and brief operational systems/network diagrams, cut sheets, and identify potential problems or concerns of processes to respective community of interest.
  • Regularly interact with government agencies to communicate trends, policy shortfalls, or other topics which impact planning and resourcing of information system assets within DOD.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: HS Diploma and 5+ years of experience
  • Clearance:  Secret

Pay Range:

Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
