The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for an experienced and motivated DevSecOps Engineer to work in our Reston, VA office in a hybrid model. This is an exciting opportunity to use your DevSecOps engineering experience to support the analysis, design, development and automation of infrastructure components that are deployed with security and resiliency to support network communication functions across the enterprise and the mission’s tactical edge. You will be tasked to support the requirements gathering, analysis, design, code development, configuration, and integration of innovative situational awareness solutions in a research and development setting that explores the functionality and underlying infrastructure required to build, run and deploy those solutions. In this mission we will design and implement hardware and software and integrate with network communication nodes and devices at the tactical edge leveraging enterprise, wireless, space and terrestrial communications including cloud. You will lead the implementation of infrastructure and software DevSecOps automation and deployment solutions, and will be involved in supporting the system architecture, requirements definition, design, development, testing, validation and verification of the secure automation processes required to first model and then configure/reconfigure, deploy and sustain mission edge solutions based on digital systems engineering model specifications. Your DevSecOps solution will address automation requirements of operation in DDIL environments in support of network communications resiliency.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop hands-on DevSecOps solutions for distributed hardware and software system requirements
Conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AOA) / trade studies for a Research and Development effort
Develop code to interact with REST APIs and API-driven security technologies to automate integration, deployment and security tasks aimed at removing human errors and inconsistencies
Apply secure software to physical and virtualized hardware, internet/network/cloud servers, virtualized containers, web-enabled applications, virtual private networks
Enable data integrity, node resiliency, public key/infrastructure/digital signatures, encryption, and policy
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM-related field, and 8 years of prior relevant DevSecOps and software engineering experience or Master's with 6+ years of prior relevant experience
Active DoD Secret Clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance
Experience with DevOps tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, Ansible, Chef
Experience with a version control system (e.g., Git/BitBucket)
Knowledge and understanding of Agile SAFe
Experience in gathering requirements, defining agile sprint stories, developing automation procedures as required and conducting demonstrations of proposed solution
Knowledge in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) to enable rapid deployment of infrastructure, application features, defect fixes and continuous integration
Experience in Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) systems/mechanisms and frameworks with test-driven development tools leveraging automation
Knowledge of source code version control management concepts (code trunk, branching, merging, integration, versioning, etc.)
Experience with the implementation of provisioning and deployment techniques that include packaging, componentization and microservices, and/or cloud
Experience with different HW profiles/processors, Intel, AMD
Solid programming skills in: Python, Java/ JavaScript, Powershell, C++, RUST
Preferred Qualifications
AWS, Azure or Google Solutions Architect, DevSecOps Certs, RHCE (nice to have)
Orchestration of physical and cloud infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code)
Advanced Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physical Sciences (STEM)
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
