We are excited to announce our opening for a Senior Material Planner on our Materials Management team in our Chesapeake, VA location! This person will be accountable for the material acquisition plans for the multiple programs within the Leidos Defense and Intelligence Business Lines. Will have the ability to work with Programs in generating material requirements and providing the necessary acquisition plans from start to finish. The Senior Material Planner will be interfacing with Vendors, Logistics, Receiving, Materials Management, and Strategic Sourcing to ensure program milestones are met.
-Work with Program team to ensure a streamlined procurement process of materials against program requirements.
-The ability to work with programs in generating material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish.
-Maintain reports and monitor material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
-Coordinate forecasts, workload, expediting, and acquisition priority with commodity/category team management.
-Provide advice to programs as to proper routes to take throughout the materials management and sourcing process that will be to the greatest benefit of the program.
-Place orders through purchasing cards within a specific spend threshold/limit.
-Analyze material requirements for leveraging opportunities, supplier recommendations, acquisition planning
-Engage supply chain (vendor to manufacturing) to establish optimal acquisition strategy.
-Manage production and delivery schedules.
-Speak with internal and client project team members. Works to influence team members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
-Requires a Bachelors degree or equivalent and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
-Full comprehension of concepts, standards, industry practices and standards within own discipline
-Strong Microsoft Office knowledge and skills
-Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
-Great organization and communication skills
-Attention to detail
-Intermediate Excel (Pivot Tables, Charts, v-Lookups, Bar Charts)
-Experience with Buying, Supply Chain Management, and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) knowledge
-Strong knowledge and experience in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) for price and source justification at appropriate levels for purchasing card orders
Pay Range:Pay Range $59,150.00 - $91,000.00 - $122,850.00
