The Airborne Solutions Organization at Leidos currently has an opening for a Production Engineer to work in our Manassas, VA office. Our staff works in a fast-paced and hands-on environment to deliver innovative products and solutions to support aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance platforms for today’s warfighter. THE CHALLENGE (primary responsibilities)
Serve as a production engineering liaison for aircraft manufacturing and integration activities, which includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Review of mechanical design and drafting
Create/Review formal documentation of issues and solutions
Oversite of hardware manufacturing, outsourcing and procurement
Design review for manufacturability
Support quality assurance and quality control activities
Development of procedures and work instructions
Provide inputs to project scheduling
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, utilizing sound project management principles to prioritize work to meet performance, schedule, and quality objectives
WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience using parametric 3D CAD software. Possible programs may include SolidWorks (preferred), Inventor, Solid Edge, NX, Creo, etc.
Experience with production and/or manufacturing processes and best practices
Experience with configuration management principals
Ability to access various areas of different aircraft types, which may involve kneeling, stooping, standing, and lifting light to medium weights
Ability to perform in-shop and on-aircraft surveys against 2D drawings
Security Clearance Requirement
Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. citizen
Preferred Qualifications
ISO9001, AS9100, Six Sigma or, similar quality management system experience
Aircraft structures experience
Active Secret clearance
Experience in a site or shop lead role
Experience with composite manufacturing; sheet metal manufacturing, including cutting, forming, and stamping; and CNC machining/milling
Pay Range:
Pay Range $63,050.00 - $97,000.00 - $130,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
