Primary Responsibilities
In this role, you will join a team of developers (Leidos & Government) supporting the development of a research and development web application for the Navy. The application consists of a React front-end and a Java services backend. The development environment is on Windows 10 using either Firefox/Chrome. Your focus will be on the React front-end. You will work with the team to ensure successful software execution using Agile software development practices. The team uses SCRUM methodology for development with 2-week sprint cycles.
This is a Hybrid Telecommuting position. The Software Developer will be required to attend frequent meetings in San Diego . Candidates will need to live within a reasonable commuting distance from San Diego.
Basic Qualifications
Position requires US citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance.
Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of related experience.
5+ years of front-end development including: advanced JavaScript (ES6+), ReactJS (V16.8+), typescript, CSS, HTML and browser development tools (Chrome/React DevTools)
Experience using ReactJS v16.8+, including functional components and React Hooks (including useContext and useReducer).
Experience with Javascript package management and build tools such as npm, yarn, webpack, react-scripts.
Experience using RESTful APIs, API testing tools such as Postman, developing web-clients using RESTful web-services and JSON data structures.
Experience using javascript libraries such as React Bootstrap, Material UI, Axios, Ramda (functional programming), Moment.js, date-fns.
Ability to complete software tasks within the sprint based on your estimates.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Design, implement, debug, and test React/JS front-end user stories as directed by the product owner.
Participate in sprint reviews & planning sessions at the customer site in the San Diego area, demonstrating your sprint user stories.
Mentor and teach junior staff innovative techniques for React/JS development.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
