Job Description:
Leidos Emerging Health Solutions has an immediate need for a Data Engineer that will play a pivotal role by providing technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of data movement and manipulation which supports Leidos and our clients. You are highly organized with strong communication skills and able to adapt to changes in a rapidly growing and evolving organization.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING!!
- Provide technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of data movement and manipulation.
- Assist applications support staff and users on database solutions to business problems, report requests, data architectures, database management and the operation of databases.
- Analyze cross-technology and cross-platform issues, partnering with subject matter experts to evaluate the technical feasibility of requests and proposed solutions.
- Partner with various teams to define and execute data acquisition, transformation, and processing for data ingestion.
- Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity, and serving as the resident data expert.
- Interact with customer in response to reported problems and defining requirements.
- Perform other IT project work as assigned on a “best effort” basis.
- Partner with various teams to define and execute data acquisition, transformation, and processing for data ingestion.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 4+ years of Oracle and Microsoft SQL server administration or systems engineering experience with familiarity of MS SQL syntax (additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree).
- 4 years’ experience in Healthcare.
- Experience with Windows Server and the ability to install and maintain MS SQL Server.
- Troubleshooting, track, and monitor data flow.
- Experience with and knowledge of advanced data mining techniques.
- Ability to load data backups onto servers.
- Experience with scripting for the purposes of data manipulation and automating redundant tasks.
- Aptitude for learning new scripting languages and database syntax and the ability to implement those new skills
- Familiar with Database Administration and Development - Oracle\SQL Server\SQLLite\MSAccess
- SQL Language - Writing\Editing\Executing.
- Powershell Programming.
- Unix\Linux\Windows Operating Systems and Shell programming knowledge.
- Familiar with Health IT data i.e., Cerner Clinical, STAR, Meditech is preferred.
- Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) experience (File Conversion\Data Migration\Extracts)

- Fluency in executing data acquisition, transformation, and processing for data ingestion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to plan and manage technical meetings and translate technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently, handling changing priorities and exceeding client expectations.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
