Leidos is seeking a Server Engineer with strong expertise in operating systems and server hardware to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team. This role will lead server engineering to support the discovery analysis and design activities required to migrate common IT services from over twenty large-scale DoD agencies into DoDNet. Post migration this role will assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and server systems for participating agencies. The DES program supports a highly demanding mission and requires support from top technical and management talent to migrate common IT services for over twenty DoD agencies under a common platform. You will play a key role in performing the discovery, design, and migration tasks in support of building a world-class Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense.
•Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
•Support initial discovery efforts, defining data collection requirements based on inputs needed to develop a successful migration plan
•Under guidance of senior engineers conduct advanced data analysis techniques and benchmarks to define the future state migration plan, and the pre-migration activities necessary to close gaps
•Understand backend infrastructure needs resulting from the migration of over 20 agencies into a single architecture
•Implement solutions, integrate, configure, test and deploy numerous types server-based applications based on Windows, Linux, and VMware operating systems.
•Support optimization of end-to-end system performance and migration workflows
•Assist in data captures to obtain computing performance and system configuration information
•Deploy migration plans that accelerate execution and minimize impact to the user community
•Deploy migration plans for complex n-tier applications and services
•Gather needed data to forecast long-term capacity and performance requirements
•Configuring and optimizing server hardware and software under the guidance of senior engineers, troubleshooting and resolving server issues under the guidance of senior engineers, and monitoring and analyzing system performance under the guidance of senior engineers
•Assisting in ensuring compliance with security and regulatory standards
•Assisting in the planning and implementation of new projects and initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers
•Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience; additional years of directly applicable experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
•Proficiency with enterprise-class server-based services such as: directory services, collaboration tools, monitoring tools, and virtual infrastructure
•DoD IAT Level II (Security+ ) certification or equivalent is required
•Consulting firm experience is highly desirable
•Strong knowledge of networking, storage, cyber, and data center facilities

Pay Range:Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00
