Leidos’ Corporate Payroll Services team is seeking a customer service; solution oriented, dependable, Sr. Payroll Specialist to join its team. Our Payroll Services team handles complex union, federal contracting standards, expat, and other special pay situations for US based employees on missions around the world. This position will be responsible for providing support related to payroll processing, tax support, audit requests, status reporting, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible to run the day-to-day payroll functions in an efficient and timely manner under the supervision of the Director of Domestic Payroll.
- Manage timesheet processing for MO’s weekly
- Understand and compute, review, and validate labor costs
- Calculate, compile, and submit accurate information and adjustments into the payroll processing software for assigned employee groups.
- Calculate miscellaneous pay components in compliance with federal, state, and/or local policies and tax guidelines.
- Create, review, and audit manual checks.
- Prepare manual upload files used in the processing of payroll.
- Garnishment Payroll Entries and review
- Evaluate, develop recommendations, and implement approved changes in the processing of payroll.
- Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, wage tax laws, segregation of duties, SOX, DOL, and other legislation impacting payroll
- Serve as a point of escalation for questions/issues from employees on union, federal contracting standards, expat, and other special pay situations.
- Detect and resolve routine and complex payroll anomalies
- Prepare external reports to internal business partners and research GL matters
- Support help desk team by answering and resolving employee escalations
- Support team with special payroll projects, tax adjustments, and complex research matters.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and 5+ years of progressive payroll experience
- Must have experience with Costpoint Payroll and Timekeeping
- Strong attention to detail
- Dependable
- Understand cost accounting concepts
- Ability to assess appropriately when to escalate employee or system issues Outcome driven mindset with complete focus on accuracy and timely processing of payroll
- Organized and focused to drive results, improve processes, manage complex payroll escalations, and meet operational deadlines
- Strong ability to work as a team, with focus on collaboration and developing business relations that drive high employee satisfaction
- Experience with MS Excel, Pivot Tables, VLOOKLUP’s, and complex formulas
- Knowledge of state, and local tax regulations
- Ability to identify gaps in controls and remedy in partnership with management team
Preferred Qualifications:
- UltiPro Payroll a plus
Pay Range:
Pay Range $48,750.00 - $75,000.00 - $101,250.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
