The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Cloud Engineer Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Defense product line mission. In this mission, we support the Modernization Effort of the Reagan Test Site Operations Headquarters located in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities – Work you’ll do:
Manage a tam of 3 to 5 engineers across multiple engineering disciplines.
Provide leadership for cloud engineering team, including planning, coaching, recruitment, selection, performance development, and mentoring
Monitor staff performance by working with employees to establish and implement goals, create and encourage professional development plans and track/monitor performance
Manage day-to-day activities such as resource scheduling conflicts, utilization reporting, etcetera
Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex projects which includes identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies
Manage staff to ensure all duties are performed in an accurate and timely manner
Perform resource planning and allocation and support direct reports in meeting work requirements
Build a high performing team of mixed technical subject matter experts while mentoring them on soft skills and career planning
Contributor in defining and mapping Agile IT services and VMware cloud capabilities to compliancy controls such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, HIPAA, etc.
Drive initiatives in improving processes for discovery, documentation, deployment strategies, and engineering execution
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
BS degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience or a Master’s with 3 years of prior relevant experience.
Minimum 3 years of management experience with an ability to share knowledge, lead and mentor less experienced team members.
5+ years of VMware administration in the areas of design, implementation, capacity planning, and maintenance
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education – Favorable if you have:
Ability to operate across multiple projects concurrently and assume the responsibility for the appropriate technical and architectural implementation of project appraisal
Experience conducting virtual infrastructure capacity assessments, forecasting, and health
Familiar with Horizon 8 and VDI architectures
Knowledge of the fundamentals of VXRail, PSC/SSL VCF Certificates, NSX, vSphere, vRealize Suite and related technologies.
Basic knowledge of vROPS, and Fibre channel SANS, NFS and vSAN
Familiar with VMware associated programs and coding languages, such as Windows Server, MS IIS, SAN architecture, WebSphere, Citrix, Python, and JavaScript
Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP/AD, SMB, NFS,FTP, SMTP and SNMP
Understanding of Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) (Forests/Domains/Trusts/Group Policy)
Windows/Linux client OS deployment, operations, and troubleshooting
Splunk Engineering Knowledge and Service Now integration
Candidate must, at a minimum, meet DoD 8570.11- IAT Level II certification requirements (currently Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP along with an appropriate computing environment (CE) certification)
VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) preferred
Strong communication skills with business partners.
Experience with vRealize Automation or Kubernetes is strongly preferred
Clearance Required:
Possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
