The NISC IV program within the Civil group at Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the FAA’s Office of Performance Analysis by performing a wide range of program office support functions. Provides advanced technical planning and system integration design duties for a data analysis and collaboration system. Collaborates on the development of an overall enterprise integrated system design and testing. Designs complex information systems describing and defining the flow of information among users, interfaces between programs, interactions, and key data structures. Applies extensive technical expertise within the domain of system engineering, and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. The overall achievement goal is to provide planning and organization to bring about the successful completion of specific program goals and objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate with the Office of Performance Analysis by providing Air Traffic System Automation Support including, but not limited to, Systems Engineering Support, Technical Analysis Support, and Portfolio Support. Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing system engineering Software Development Life-cycle (SDLC) documents for a knowledge sharing application. Interface with customer to understand and document system functional requirements. Converting customer requirements into detailed, functional, and technical requirements. Develop system engineering System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) artifacts, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS), diagrams and other documentation as required. Track the system from post-award until the design and development stages are complete. Have good communication and writing skills and be able to clearly explain technical details and issues to non-technical individuals.
Basic Qualifications
Requires a BS degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience and industry certifications may be substituted for degree requirement.. In addition:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience as a government development contractor for information technology projects.
- Familiarity with Cloud based development and deployment, especially if Amazon Web Services.
- Familiarity with the JIRA toolset.
- Ability to develop and lead working groups comprised of multiple agencies and senior level individuals to achieve common goals.
- Ability to support customer and other program staff with project schedules
- Have the ability work unsupervised, and as part of a virtual team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience pertaining to Earned Value Management.
- Experience with FAA testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodology, beneficial but not essential.
- Familiarity with the FAA Joint Resources Council processes and requirements and Acquisition Management System (AMS) beneficial, but not essential.
- Familiarity with FAA and the FAA Corporate Work Plan.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
