The Leidos Civil IRS team is hiring for a Software Engineer to support modernization efforts on the Internal Revenue Service Integrated Customer Communications Environment (IRS ICCE). The Software Engineer will be responsible for understanding requirements and recreating applications using the new technology environment to which the IRS is migrating. In this role the Software Engineer will work on an IRS Java based re-engineering project moving from onsite server platform to AWS Gov Cloud. The successful candidate will work as part of the Leidos development team coordinating with management, analysts and testers to design, develop and test software applications utilizing microservices and containerization.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree and 4+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer. However, additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a professional environment using the following technologies: Microservices
- RedHat OpenShift
- Cloud implementation
- MongoDB
Additional Requirements:
- Must be flexible and adaptable, able to support using a wide variety of methods and technologies
- Must have experience in requirements analysis
- Must have experience in integrated systems
- Must have experience in software development life cycles
- Must have experience in Agile
- Must have experience with software design patterns
- Must feel comfortable interacting with the Leidos and IRS client on a daily basis
- Must have strong analytical skills and be detail oriented
- Must have effective verbal communication skills
- Perform analysis on existing functionalities
- Create and maintain technical documentation in support of the project
- Provide status reports
- Able to use Rational Suite (RRC, RQM, RTC) tools
- Must be able to obtain an IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) Clearance
Pay Range:
Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
