Leidos is seeking a Technical Writer for a new customer on a highly-visible and strategic Cybersecurity Task Order. The Technical Writer will operate as a member of the Project Management Office (PMO).
Work hours are flexible though need to be within the customer’s core business hours of 0600-1800.
Primary Responsibilities
- Draft, expand, refine, and edit technical concepts or solutions into easy-to-read, comprehensive, compliant, signature-ready, and compelling documents tailored for audiences ranging from entry-level technical to executive level
- Interact with technical team members for content development
- Standardize documentation where appropriate, e.g. templates, plans, processes, procedures
- Become well versed in and comply with federal government (especially DHS) and Leidos official document requirements and style guides
Basic Qualifications
Candidates should also demonstrate the following:
- Strong ability to quickly and effectively gather requirements, perform research, compile information, prioritize and collate, draft, edit, and produce high-quality documentation that satisfies customer needs with minimal follow-on work needed
- Ability to manage multiple communications projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the organization
- Ability to work cross functionally among PMO and technical staff
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and fluid environment.
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and/or in English/Journalism with the ability to efficiently and effectively write accurate and customer-compliant technical documents. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
Security Clearance
- TS/SCI with CI Poly required for Position or TS/SCI and willingness to get a poly.
- US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contracts we support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience drafting IT, cybersecurity, or related technical documentation using federal government official document requirements and style guides
Pay Range:
Pay Range $75,400.00 - $116,000.00 - $156,600.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
