The Leidos DES (Defense Enclave Services) team is supporting an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies and is currently seeking a Storage Engineer located at Ft. Meade, MD.
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The Leidos Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, will support services including architecture, engineering, enterprise operations, applications and hardware support, asset management, and related IT services in support of a DISA. These professionals will promote information technology discovery, optimization, and transformation into a centralized, operational enterprise. You will provide transformative IT services across all engineering disciplines critical to developing and deploying operational capabilities into an integrated and modernized enterprise environment.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
•Must hold an active Secret clearance prior to start and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret. (US Citizenship required)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manage virtualization high availability/disaster recovery solution design and integration with the backend storage.
•Investigate backup software performance and monitoring of scheduled backups to ensure success or take remedial action for failures
•Work with cluster file systems and other technologies to provide redundancy and availability for server farms and applications.
•Resolve a wide range of storage issues, troubleshooting software and hardware, diagnosis of network issues, and addressing trouble tickets and service tasks across all tiered levels.
•Assist with virtualization/storage integration with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012, SQL 2012R2, external storage devices utilizing LUNs, quota distribution and file sharing and installation on various server hardware.
•Initiate security updates in accordance with Government procedures for directory services, and evaluate virtualization and storage consolidation.
•Complete day-to-day tasks associated with system administration in the DES Compute Storage Environment.
•Recommend and implement test sets to provide root cause analysis and resolution for alerts and events and resolve incidents in reply to escalated tickets.
•Work within the DevSecOps methodology to plan and promote implementation of new technologies
•Work with with other service teams to resolve enterprise incidents as part of the DES Operations Problem Solving Team.
•Attend meetings weekly and provide weekly status reports.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
•Must have a DoD IAT Level II certification (Sec+), or higher, prior to start.
•Experience with Netapp Data Grid, Netapp Storage Arrays (FAS); Netapp Altavault; and PeerSync Peer Software.
•Experience with Nutanix Files and Nutanix Storage Cluster (AOS); backup technologies including Veritas BackupExec and Hycu; vSAN.
•Knowledge of NFS, ISCSI and other storage technologies.
•Demonstrated prior work history leveraging system engineering storage concepts.
•Must be able to lift/move/carry equipment when necessary (max 40 pounds)

Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
