Leidos is currently seeking a full-time Research Administrator, Jr. to support the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in San Diego, CA. The Research Administrator, Jr. will be primarily responsible for reviewing and tracking technical and scientific authored works for publication as well as agreements and technology transfers. The selected candidate will support NHRC by assisting in various administrative tasks, updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and generating metrics on internal processes. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

This full-time position is hybrid with a requirement to occasionally work on-site at the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA. Work hours to coincide with the standard command business hours of 0700-1630. The number of days on-site may vary depending on training and office needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and customer support between Naval Health Research Center and Naval Medical Research Unit-3.

  • Maintain departmental trackers, calendars, command records, and publications.

  • Review and recommend improvements to existing SOPs and instructions.

  • Effectively communicate with in-house research teams, external collaborators, and other administrative staff to help facilitate implementation of new or changing policies and processes.

  • Perform support functions such as compiling reports, setting up weekly and monthly meetings, and submitting forms through electronic approval routing systems.

  • Maintain publication guidelines, product lists, and technology transfer regulations.

  • Adhere to the command authored works review and agreements approval process.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or relevant equivalent experience. Experience preparing and reviewing both technical, and scientific documents; and working knowledge of Navy medical R&D activities and the government and military in general.

  • The candidate must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite version 7; able to manage multiple tasks at once; able to complete assignments quickly without sacrificing accuracy; attention to detail; self-starter and motivated; and adept at working in a highly customer-oriented and professional environment.

  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Navy medical R&D activities and the government and military in general.

  • Previous or current clearance or history of a completed government background check.

  • Working knowledge of Naval Correspondence.

  • Previous experience using Microsoft SharePoint.

Naval Health West - NHW

Pay Range:

Pay Range $31,200.00 - $48,000.00 - $64,800.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
