Job Description:
The Homeland Security Solutions Operation within Leidos is seeking a JavaScript Developer who is proficient with Angular, software, cloud, and Agile experience to support a complex program to provide Agile development and operations and maintenance for critical systems on a mission-critical program supporting the Passenger Systems Program Directorate (PSPD) within Customs and Border Protection (CBP). PSPD supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and CBP critical missions, specifically screening and processing travelers at the ports of entry (POEs) into the United States. The qualified candidate will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. He/She will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important. In this hands-on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance highly available, scalable, real-time systems. You will exercise your judgment in determining and recommending the best designs based on customer business objectives, timelines, and other resource constraints. You will participate in and/or direct major deliverable of projects through all aspects of the software development life cycle including scope and work estimation, architecture and design, coding, and unit testing.
Primary Responsibilities:
Developing new user-facing features using Angular
Upgrading legacy JSP monolithic applications to Microservice Architecture
Upgrading Angular JS to latest Angular
Building reusable components and front-end libraries for future use
Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers
Basic Qualifications:
BS/BA degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or a Masters with 6+ years ; OR 6 years of experience in lieu of degree
2-3 years’ experience developing cloud ready applications and/or experience migrating applications to the cloud
Must be able to maintain and obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start
Thorough understanding of React & Angular, and their core principles
Strong proficiency in JavaScript, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model
Experience with popular React.js workflows (such as Flux or Redux)
Experience with data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable.js)
Familiarity with RESTful APIs
Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Token
Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools
Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
Experience with common back-end Java development, Spring development
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of exposure to cloud migration and development efforts contained within cloud migration efforts
Experience with TDD or BDD testing and working with Selenium or similar testing platform
Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
Knowledge of Agile Framework (JIRA, Confluence)
Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
