The Leidos Defense Group currently has a position for an Information Technology Specialist supporting US Space Systems Command (SSC) located on Los Angeles Air Force Base, California and to be determined other SSC operating locations.
Applicants will assist SSC trusted agents procure Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Gov’t Off the Shelf (GOTS) hardware and software, assemble and configure equipment, and manage software version control and hardware inventory within a database tracking system. The applicant will work independently and as part of a team responsible for the maintenance, configuration and reliable operations of computer systems and other network devices – inclusive of, but not limited, to personnel training and certification, hardware / software problem report and change request tracking, risk management (XACTA) and Gov’t Program Office / vendor collaboration. Candidates must demonstrate excellent organization skills, problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to transcribe legacy data to new tracking system capabilities. The applicant must understand computer programming languages and techniques to provide IT solution support across multiple platforms and secure DoD networks. The applicant must be familiar with various operating systems and platforms, databases, web-based applications and basic-level hardware / software troubleshooting.
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years’ experience or an Associate’s Degree and 10 years’ experience.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in an TS / SCI DoD IT operating environment is required.
- DoD 8570 IAT 1 certification (Security +) and 3 - 5 years of system administration experience.
- Familiarity with Remedy, Active Directory, Remote Desktop, Windows 10, and Jira / Confluence or MS SharePoint.
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools such as MS PowerShell and previous hands-on experience with secure and unsecure communication network routing protocols, routers and cryptologic devices is also highly desired.
- Individual must possess an active TOP SECRET security clearance with SCI eligibility on date of hire.
