Leidos is seeking a Field Service Systems Administrator for a position as part of a team supporting the Air Force’s U.S. Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System Extended (BICES-X) program in Springfield, VA. This is a full time position that must work in Springfield, VA. No full time telework is allowed.
Job Summary
The Field Service Systems Administrator will support tasks on the contract related to the BICES Program. US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide in-person and remote Tier 1 and 2 IT support to customers as part of a team or working independently across multiple networks and across multiple facilities and locations
Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues with Windows Operating Systems, desktops, laptops, printers, digital senders, video teleconferences, VOIPs, and other standard office equipment; depending on location and staffing, may need to operate & maintain servers and storage devices
Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve software issues with MS Office and Outlook, Adobe, Java, PKIs
Execute basic Active Directory tasks and manage NTFS permissions such as share folder access
Complete basic and advanced hardware and infrastructure work as directed, including: running cable and cable management at both workstations and in server rooms, workstation installations, checking UPS systems, replacing hardware components of laptops & desktops, basic printer maintenance
Track all work in designated systems (such as Remedy), ensure completeness and accuracy of tickets, escalate issues as needed, and hand-off work between day or night shift
Support in & out process users, including creating accounts, setting up workstations, mapping drives and printers
Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
Maintains the integrity and security of systems.
As required, supports users with completing requests for deployment of new services.
Maintains system documentation
Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
May program in an administrative language.
Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
Provides advice and training to end-users.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Adheres to the principles, methods, and techniques used in system administration and support.
Maintains/enhances knowledge of related hardware and software.
May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
Will occasionally be required to perform networks, DTS, information assurance and logistics duties.
May be required to work outside of “normal” work hours to include weekends and holidays.
May be required to support operations in austere and/or remote locations.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent and 5+ years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis. A equivalent of experience and education may be considered.
Must possess and maintain a US Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in system administration and support
Experience with user, administrative and service account creation, and management.
Experience with Server STIGs, patching, Tenable, ACAS, SCCM, and IAVA vulnerabilities.
Experience with Group Policy, and Windows PowerShell.
Experience with Multiple OS’ and Scripting Languages
Must demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of related hardware and software
Must meet 8570.1 IAT Level 2 certification requirements
May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment
Windows 10 Certification within 90 days
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the principles, methods, and techniques used in Microsoft Server 2016 administration, troubleshooting and support.
Experience with Server STIGs, patching, testing, security controls, Tenable, ACAS, SCCM/WSUS, and IAVA vulnerabilities.
Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and Windows PowerShell.
Experience with, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, and Chat technologies.
Experience with VMWare vCenter, VMware Horizon VDI, and other virtualization technologies.
Experience with managing, monitoring, and responding to key server infrastructure alerts.
Local travel is ~ 40-50 % to customer locations in the surrounding area. Remote travel is possibly 0-10% but no greater.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
