Leidos is seeking a RMF Engineer who is familiar with RMF and the software systems engineering process. Our new colleague will work with the cyber security and systems engineering team to ensure the artifacts required for the RMF process are in place as we work to get our supported systems accredited.
This role will support the effort to discover, analyze and design IT migration plans for over twenty large-scale DoD agencies. Leidos needs the best talent in the industry to accommodate the size, scope, and complexity of this effort. A successful candidate will be well-rounded, producing quality work with special attention to the right details.
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
The DES program supports a highly demanding mission and requires support from top technical and management talent to migrate common IT services for over twenty DoD agencies under a common platform. You will play a key role in performing the discovery, design, and migration tasks in support of building a world-class Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
•Must hold an active Secret security clearance. (US Citizenship required)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Support Authorizing Official (AO) actions by developing and delivering accreditation packages and associated artifacts in accordance with NIST RMF and related agency specific RMF requirements
• Develop processes and procedures for evaluating and documenting information system security vulnerabilities IAW DoD Instruction (DoDI) 8510.01 (RMF for DoD IT)
• Collaborate with the cyber security team to maintain computer and information security incident, damage and threat assessment programs.
• Investigate computer and information security incidents to determine extent of compromise to information and automated information systems, network assessments, researching and maintaining proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and trends in computer network vulnerabilities, data hiding and network security and encryption.
• Design and recommend integrated system solutions ensuring proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected, participating with the client in the strategic design process to translate security and business requirements into technical designs, and configuring and validating secure systems, testing security products/systems to detect computer and information security weakness.
• Lead the team in developing new products, processes, standards or operational plans in support of the established cyber security processes
• Strong communication skills are a must since this position requires coordination between multiple contractor teams, the government and Leidos systems engineers
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards and best practices in RMF
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience working with NIST RMF as an ISSO, SCA, or related role
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (e.g. Security+ CE, SSCP, etc)
• Experience performing vulnerability and compliance assessments, analyzing reports, remediating findings
• Experience managing accreditation packages and associated artifacts within eMASS and/or XACTA
• Firm understanding of cybersecurity, hardware, and software engineering best practices
• MUST have strong problem-solving, communication, organization, and writing skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III or higher certification (e.g. CISSP, CISA, etc)
• Ability to identify needed changes to processes and activities and help to implement continuous improvement solutions
• Ability to work successfully as part of a virtual team
• ITIL certification

Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
