Leidos is seeking an experienced Physical/COMSEC Security Analyst who would be responsible for executing, maintaining, and providing oversight of the physical and COMSEC responsibilities of the contract. Successful applicant should have experience with the DoD Physical Security Program (DoD 5200.08-R) as it related to the general protection of classified information along with Navy doctrine as it pertains to COMSEC found in the Naval Communications Security Material System (CMS) manuals.
Primary Responsibilities
This position supports the NAVY SURTASS contract. You will be responsible for analyzing, auditing, and monitoring physical and COMSEC related security requirements aboard Navy vessels. Conducting security assessments, vulnerability testing and risk analysis. Performing both internal and external security audits. Analyzing security breaches to identify root cause. This position requires a deep understanding of COMSEC related principals, Navy Security regulation and procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing updates to training materials, job aides and standard operating procedure manuals. Must possess a strong understanding of Navy physical security requirements. The Physical/COMSEC Audit Security Analyst must be detailed oriented and have excellent communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills to function in a high-paced, dynamic environment, as well as the ability to work independently, and with the government Navy customer.
- Individual will be required to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations to perform spot checks, self-inspections, and audits related to physical/COMSEC security as dictated by the contract.
- Individual will maintain, review, and implement changes to the Standard Operating Procedure’s manuals for both Shipboard and Shore Side manuals.
- Individual will be required to create, update, and conduct physical/COMSEC related training to crew personnel at both CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Basic Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 5 years experience in the Navy life cycle sustainment program or a highly reputable operational environment.
- Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS 50% of the time
-Thorough understanding of COMSEC Management
- Experience in Auditing, Maintaining, Updating, and Managing Navy security and COMSEC related procedures aboard CONUS and OCONUS vessels
-The ability to Develop and update training materials, policies, and contract related procedures.
-This position requires a great deal of interaction with the Navy and Navy crews upon ships
-Thorough understanding of DoD 5200.08-R, Physical Security Program & Naval Communication Security Material System (CMS) manuals to include CMS 1A, CMS 2 and CMS 3A
-Demonstrated ability to perform COMSEC spot checks, full inspections, and training
-Demonstrated ability to work within an accredited ISO 9001 compliant program
-Demonstrated ability to perform Physical security and COMSEC management tasks
-Recommend internal Quality control checks
-Active Top Secret clearance w/ability to obtain SCI.
Preferred Qualifications
• Three (3) years’ experience with physical security and classified material handling. Experience should include the areas listed below.
i. Development, administration, and inspection of SURTASS security programs and procedures.
ii. Development of trip reports upon completion of ship visits.
iii. Verification of classified material inventory.
iv. Physical security compliance verification.
v. Provide security training, direction, policy, and procedures
vi. Assistance and coordination of audits and inspections.
vii. Development and verification of Emergency Action Plans.
viii. Penetration/vulnerability testing of security procedures.
•Self-starter with the ability to work independently, while at the same time being a solid group contributor with strong leadership skills.
Experience with Physical and COMSEC Navy procedures is desired.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $72,000.00 - $97,200.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
