The Defense Group at Leidos, supporting the Medium/Overlord Unmanned Surface Vessel (MUSV) Program, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support a dynamic high growth organization. The Quality Engineer will be responsible to work with the program personnel to mature the Quality Management System, process/procedure infrastructure, implement the Quality Management Plan, and work with the QEC Defense Director in acquiring ISO 9001:2015 site certification. This individual will establish an internal audit plan/schedule reviewed/approved by the program manager and the Group Quality Engineering Director and conduct audits in accordance with the approved plan with documented objective evidence, nonconformance, corrective/preventive actions, opportunities for improvement and lessons learned. This individual will conduct Quality Management Reviews (QMR) with Leidos leadership on a quarterly basis using stat results of program quality objectives, performance measurements, audits, and inspections. The program operates and maintains prototype autonomous vessels for test and evaluation of the vessels as well as developing operations, maintenance, logistics and training procedures for the autonomous Fleet of the future. Responsibilities – Work you’ll do:
Works with the Program Manager and QEC Director to develop Quality strategies, objectives, and responsibilities for QA surveillance.
Work in an ISO 9001:2015 engineering environment and ability to refine/lead Quality Management for the M/OUSV program.
Serve as the Quality lead on each program at Pittsburgh site for the performance of planning, work product reviews, and quality audits.
Implement and maintain the M/OUSV Quality Assurance (QA) Plan and Quality Management System.
Support Quality Management Reviews by reporting to QEC Director and higher-level management on the program’s quality achievements and the program’s progress towards meeting quality objectives.
Provide review and input to program plans and program documents in support of accurate and on-time deliverables.
Execute timely internal quality audits in adherence with the program’s audit schedule and in compliance with Leidos policies and direction, report audit results to QEC Director and program leadership.
Provide proactive early identification of issues/concerns prior to nonconformance/events occur by analyzing trends associated with program key processes.
Generate and aid with corrective action requests for audit findings and maintain the Common Audit Database (CAD) with timely updates/closures of audit findings.
Ensure engineering compliance to logistics, maintenance, and operational procedures for components and/or systems in accordance with customer requirements.
Establish a test strategy for monitoring any array rebalancing tests.
Monitor field troubleshooting of team’s US NAVY Shipboard equipment from a documentation and configuration tracking perspective.
Conduct root cause analysis on trends, customer concerns/CAR/negative CPARs.
Support external audits conducted in support of maintaining the organization’s ISO 9001:2015 and CMMI level 3 certifications.
Supports and proactively leads and documents process improvements (e.g., six sigma events), lessons learned and assists program team in creating a culture for continuous improvement.
Actively implement Mission Assurance goals and objectives and support Defense QEC business rhythms.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
Bachelor’s Degree with four or more years of relevant experience (e.g., Engineering Field). Additional years of experience, training and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
US Citizen; with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance upon hire.
Four or more years of auditing and maintaining quality management system in an ISO 9001:2015 engineering/operational/maintenance environment.
Proven performance in monitoring design/operations/maintenance of engineering components and/or subsystems.
Ability to work to integrate with deployed teams.
Good organization skills and configuration management.
Proficient with SharePoint and MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to multi-task and function in a dynamic fast-paced environment.
Experience in evaluating / monitoring performance measurements and conducting root cause analysis when metrics breach

Pay Range:
Pay Range $66,300.00 - $102,000.00 - $137,700.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
