The Leidos Innovations Center produces and sustains sensor systems supporting Homeland Defense. You’ll directly impact the Department of Defense’s Homeland Defense mission by improving survivability and decreasing vulnerability against foreign threat systems.
We are seeking a functional leader for our engineering team with a background in sensor systems and software engineering. This is a dual role as a lead system engineer (80%) and a manager of a small (8 to 10) group of technical professionals (20%). The group's responsibilities include signal processing, RF engineering and software development for in-service and in-development sensor systems.
In this role you will perform the following:
Employee engagement and development
Lead System Engineer
Task Planning and Schedule Management
Identification and root cause analysis of system anomalies
Performance prediction and modelling of test scenarios
Analysis of test results, investigate discrepancies, and propose solutions to identified issues
The successful candidate will have strong analytic and communication skills and work well in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.
Complex systems development experience including algorithms, software, data analysis, modeling and simulation
Knowledge of the Design, Manufacturing and Test Integration process
Knowledge of signal processing, tracking algorithms and filters
Knowledge of RF Hardware Engineering
Knowledge of Software Engineering
10 or more years’ experience working with sensor systems
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Physics
Experience as Technical lead or other demonstrated leadership role
DoD SECRET Clearance with the most recent investigation in the previous 6 years
Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, Data Analytics, Physics or equivalent
Knowledge of radar principles
Pay Range:Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00
