The 1901 Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, currently has an opening for a Monitoring and Tools Engineer will work as a senior member of the Monitoring & Tools Team to lead on-going automation efforts, improve operational efficiencies, and to support availability, administration, operations & maintenance, upgrades, and other tasks across the 1901 Group integrated tools stack with a focus on ScienceLogic SL1. Tools include, but are not limited to: SolarWinds, ScienceLogic EM7/SL1, NetLineDancer, PRTG, Bluecat, LayerX, and others as the tools stack continues to evolve. The Monitoring and Tools Engineer will receive on the job and formal training and will be required to gain expertise in multiple systems administration areas. The Monitoring and Tools Engineer is viewed as a critical role within the Monitoring & Tools Team and will contribute substantially to the team’s success. The successful candidate will be a veteran IT professional with experience across a variety of IT technology and monitoring platforms, full-time remote. This challenging and exciting opportunity is in support of our DOD customer.
Responsibilities Include:
- Perform account management tasks including adding, changing, and deleting user accounts in a secure RBAC environment.
- Provide asset management workflow support
- Perform tools configuration for SL1, Service Now, SolarWinds, NetLineDancer, PRTG and others.
- Tasks include configuring and upgrading monitoring platforms, onboarding new devices for monitoring, adjusting monitoring thresholds, and ensuring devices are monitoring and alerting as required.
- Perform tools integration tasks so the 1901 Group tools stack efficiently shares data across the platform. Integration may be performed via Python and other scripting languages, system API, or tools configuration.
- Provide system upgrade support during tools platform upgrades and provide on-call support to ensure system availability.
- Participate, as a member of a cross-functional team, to influence the technical direction of the tools stack as the market dictates.
- Learn new tools and skills to assist in operations and maintenance of the tools stack as it evolves over time.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree 8+ of experience or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree. Major(s) in Computer Science or related field of study.
- Strong Linux server administration and networking skills.
- SL1 administration and configuration experience.
- The ability to lead teams with excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Experience configuring enterprise tools such as ScienceLogic SL1, SolarWinds, NetLineDancer, PRTG, Bluecat, LayerX, etc.
- Demonstrated experience automating assigned tasks utilizing Python, Powershell, bash or other scripting languages
- DOD Public Trust Security Clearance or the ability to receive a public trust clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in Sec+, A+, Net +, MTA, MCSA, RHCSA, CCNA, etc.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
