The Defense Group at Leidos, supporting the Medium/Overload Unmanned Surface Vessel (M/OUSV) Program, is seeking a Configuration Management (CM) Specialist to support a dynamic high growth organization. The M/OUSV program is based in Port Hueneme, CA, and is responsible for delivering cutting edge autonomous vessel technology to the US Navy. The program operates and maintains prototype autonomous vessels for test and evaluation of the vessels as well as developing operations, maintenance, logistics and training procedures for the autonomous Fleet of the future.
The Configuration Management (CM) Specialist will be responsible for configuration management issues associated with maintaining and controlling all hardware inventory, documentation, product releases, and software configuration management on M/OUSV program ships, systems, technical manuals, drawings, training material, and provisioning data.

Responsibilities – Work you’ll do:
- Collaborate with CM stakeholders to include customer counterparts, Program Management, Operations, Maintenance, Logistics, Engineering and Training staff, and Knowledge Management personnel.
- Maintain configuration change control. Support the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.
- Analyze proposed fielding plan changes for impacts to in progress or new Ship Change Documents (SCD).
- Review Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and provide technical comments and installation impacts.
- Identify and maintain the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, software, and related documentation.
- Develop recommendations for CM implementation strategy, management and execution processes, and CM tools.
- Support audits to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant technical discipline or Configuration Data Management Certification (CDM) with 2+ years of experience or a Master’s degree with less than 2 years of experience. Additional experience, training and/or certifications may be substituted for degree.
- Demonstrated ability to support configuration planning and maintaining configuration change control.
- Experience supporting configuration management planning – Describing provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
- Experience and/or familiarity with configuration management standards.
- US Citizenship required to start, with the ability of obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance after hire.
- Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education – Favorable if you have:
- Ability to read and apply principles from Technical Data Packages, engineering change documents, configuration/maintenance plans, Installation Control Drawings, and Ship Installation Drawings.
- Experience in planning for shipboard modernization in Fleet concentration areas and various shipyards.
- Familiar with CM aspects of the Department of Defense (DOD) acquisition processes for systems, software, and hardware under the DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF).
- Experience supporting autonomous vessel / vehicle / aircraft programs.
- Experience conducting CM activities within a geographically dispersed team.
- Experience working with Product Life Cycle Management software application.
- Active Secret clearance.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $54,600.00 - $84,000.00 - $113,400.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
