Leidos is looking for an AI/ML Research Programmer to apply their Python programming expertise to help Leidos research, develop, and commercialize technologies enabling Predictive Analytics. Specific areas of R&D include Predictive Methods (Decision Trees, Neural Networks, Regression, Classification, Cluster Analysis), AI Explainability, Visual Analytics, and NLP methods. You should be strongly experienced in Python coding and visualization building skills and have knowledge of commonly used ML libraries (SciKit-learn).  Statistics, big data and ML Ops experience is a plus.

We are looking for someone who is intellectually adaptive, likes to collaborate, inquisitive, and capable of conducting original science.  You will work alongside junior and senior research/data scientists and software engineers with expertise in information retrieval, UI development, information science, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and statistics.

You will work with a team of researchers and ML Engineers to operationalize your research and make resulting tools and technologies deployable into operational environments.  You will contribute to R&D of new approaches that produce measurable advances over state of the art.  You will collaborate with a team of AI/ML researchers and data/software engineers with expertise in visualization development, predictive analytics, information retrieval, UI development, information science, artificial intelligence, and NLP solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

- Research and Develop methods for Predictive Analytics

- Research and Develop methods for Data Mining

- Create user interfaces and graphics

- Create, analyze, and assess prototypes of developed methods

- Communicate results of research through Jupyter notebooks, formal reports, demos, and working groups

- Utilize cloud-based infrastructure for executing and scaling R&D

- Support productization of methods through software development, containerization, and CI/CD

- Work on AWS projects

Basic Qualifications

- BS with 4+ years of experience in Mathematics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Natural Language Processing

- Practical hands-on experience with developing machine learning algorithms, visualizations, web apps

- Advanced level software development skills with Python

- Able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with software engineering

- Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) modules

- Experience with Javascript

- Experience with R

- Experience with big data

- Excellent organization and documentation skills

Pay Range:
