The Civilian Health Solutions Group is currently hiring for a SAS Programmer to support a large healthcare contract.
You will work with SAS and DevSecOps teams to improve the analytic experience for Center for Clinical Standards and Quality (CCSQ) users through system stability and advanced functionality
Responsibilities:
- Developing SAS code and macros to perform common operations such as systems and user activity monitoring, external database querying, and dataset formatting and cleansing
- Providing SQL and SAS code reviews for best practices and performance
- Modernizing current analytic platform to achieve better integrations with big data stores (e.g. Hive, etc.), and AWS tech stack
- Optimizing workflows to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for analytic solutions within CCSQ
- Proactive tracking metered cloud resources usage to optimize performance and reduce costs.
- Building standard, repeatable processes to reduce O&M costs and increase efficiency
- Providing Helpdesk Tier 2 & 3 SAS support, including maintaining of the data and analytics groups in ServiceNow, and troubleshooting user SAS code
- Supporting other O&M and project management tasks, such as facilitating and/or presenting during the bi-weekly Communications Call, bi-weekly Data Coordination Call, monthly New User Onboarding Call, quarterly Architecture Review meeting, quarterly CCSQ Data Camp events, etc.
- Writing SAS Viya jobs to monitor CCSQ systems and alerting on issues
- Managing CCSQ SAS Viya deployments within the AWS cloud
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
5+ years proficiency in SAS Programming
4+ years working within the SAS Viya Platform
4+ years working in technical support, DevOps, development, IT consulting or other technology related fields
Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with SAS Studio and SAS Environment Manager
- Understanding of SAS products and how they function together in a distributed environment
- Proficient with SQL and strong understanding of relational databases
- Working independently with only concept level instruction and very little supervision, tracks progress, and provides expert technical support to team members
- Experience administering applications in Linux based infrastructure
- Experience managing code repositories with GitHub
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of various tools, open-source technologies, and cloud services
- Awareness of critical concepts in Security, DevOps and Agile principles
- Experience working in AWS
- Experience working with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation is a plus
Preferred:
- Experience with Python is a plus
All candidates supporting the CMS programs must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior in order to be considered.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $63,050.00 - $97,000.00 - $130,950.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
