The LCST Business Analyst function is growing and maturing the services it provides to its customers (internal and external) to the business and inwardly to itself as a function. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, bring your ideas and contribute to the effective and efficiently delivery of output to Defence and the Front Line Commands (FLCs).
The Business Analysis function holistically provides analysis and solution delivery of complex business problems, processes and applications across our customer and operating portfolio. You will manage and support work empowering our LCST Programme to establish, and deliver, its vision and value, creating a capability which offers business analytics, business strategic and operations planning capability, change realisation and business transformation knowledge.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Identify stakeholders, analyse their perspectives and present back actionable insight
- Elicit, analyse, define and document business requirements
- Support UAT for IS projects, by helping to define test scenarios and assisting management of testing
- Manage small-scale projects by defining requirements, determining deliverables, organizing resources and planning and managing delivery
- Work closely with the Product Owner to understand the business drivers and desired outcomes, and ensure proposed solutions and prototypes are produced in line with these.
- Help recommend and design acceptance criteria to support test engineers producing testing approaches / methodologies.
- Evaluate, analyse and support business change impacts and constantly drive to ensure the product evolves towards the service vision and business architecture strategy.
- Help to develop performance metrics and evolve working practises to continuously advance the quality of solutions and the business value of the product.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Business process modelling (using a conventional modelling notation, e.g. UML)
- Requirements elicitation
- Capability & process gap analysis
- Requirements analysis
- Requirements modelling and documentation
- High standards of communication (written and verbal)
- Proficiency in MS Visio and strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Experience in one of the MBSE (EA/Cameo) will be beneficial
- Self-starting, enthusiastic, keenness to learn, develop and contribute to the success of the programme.

The Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST) Programme for the UK Ministry of Defence is a critical effort to enhance and improve the UK’s defence supply chain. The programme provides essential services such as storage and distribution for the MOD's materiel, including a global freight service and the procurement and inventory management of 70,000 commodity NATO Stock Number (NSNs).
