Leidos has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking Strategic Communications Specialist to assist the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP). This position will be accountable for providing strategic communications assistance to two OJP offices, with the goal of maximizing the impact of agency communications to justice system stakeholders.
Tasks include:
Directing development and execution of strategic communications plans that align with the customers’ mission, goals, and priorities.
Creating SMART goals and tracking progress in meeting those goals.
Writing content for a variety of justice system audiences.
Coordinating special strategic initiatives, campaigns, and projects resulting from new or enterprise-wide priorities.
Identifying communication obstacles and opportunities.
Monitoring and implementing best practices.
Implementing a proactive, coordinated approach to internal and external communications with key stakeholders.
Providing strategic and tactical advice to advance strategic communication priorities.
Coordinating communications meetings with internal management and stakeholders, documenting meeting outcomes, and tracking actions.
Basic Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, or Public Relations.
A minimum of 8 years results related strategic communications familiarity assisting government and public sectors.
Familiarity in strategic planning, audience identification, engagement, and assessment with measurable impact.
Prior familiarity with developing communications products.
Exceptional oral and writing skills.
Project management exposure.
Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.

Please Note: This is a full-time remote position, but the candidate should be able to attend occasional meetings in person in Washington, D.C. and/or Gaithersburg, MD. Candidates in the D.C. area are preferred.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $75,400.00 - $116,000.00 - $156,600.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
