The Security Enterprise Solutions team is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to contribute to our Hold Baggage products.
The Software Engineer uses knowledge and experience with Object-Oriented C++ development to perform job functions. Individual will be responsible for developing applications for our distributed turn-key systems. Working under general supervision in a small team environment, your primary responsibility will be to import and automate builds from a legacy configuration management system into a Microsoft Azure Git repository for our multi-tiered distributed applications and systems. The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below.
Primary Responsibilities
Works on day-to-day objectives with limited impact beyond the scope of own work area/ project team.
Works under supervision on complex projects/ assignments.
Solves routine technical problems following established procedures and policies.
Develops products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories, and concepts within own technical specialty.
Communicates with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes, and practices related to area.
Requires basic knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of narrow technical domain.
Basic Qualifications
Highschool education or equivalent and enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at the Junior/Senior level in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Candidates must be enrolled in a degree program or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience
Some development experience with C, C++, Java, python, Golang or Rust etc.
Knowledge of Object-Oriented principles.
Your GPA needs to be included on your application and resume.
The candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
Some experience with the Linux operating system.
Experience with SQL
Experience with UML
Awareness of Configuration Management principles and exposure with version control system such as Git.
A strong interest in figuring out how things work and understanding them at a fundamental level.
Enthusiasm and an interest in contributing to projects that are important to operational programs.
Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,200.00 - $68,000.00 - $91,800.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
